FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

GIVING BACK TO K.I.D.S. The Shoe Garden is working for kids

The Shoe Garden, located in the heart of the West Village has joined forces with Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.) by donating over $10,000 worth of brand new shoes, boots and sneakers to children at risk.

All of the shoes donated to K.I.D.S. are distributed through their network of more than a thousand local social service agencies. These agencies serve youth in poverty-stricken communities through homeless shelters, foster-care facilities, hospitals, relief organizations, food banks and other programs in the U.S. and abroad.

“Being part of the community is very important to us as small business owners, and helping out children and their families both in our own communities and beyond helps foster a spirit of giving that is core to community building” said Alsun Keogh, co-owner of Shoe Garden.

About: The Shoe Garden, a New York City kids shoe boutique was started by two downtown moms five years ago who wanted a great shoe store for their kids but did not want ‘yet another’ kids shoe store. The Shoe Garden carries shoes, boots, sandals and athletic shoes in ages newborn to eight years, for boys and girls. Each shoe is handpicked with respect to its fit, quality and the style, so it's easy to find a shoe that works for every child. We also carry a great range of brands that means you’ll find a shoe that also works for every budget. Shopping should be easy and fun - with this in mind you can buy the latest kids fashions in our stores, online, through Amazon and even by phone.
